Spike Theatre – Sink or Swim

Written by admin on . Posted in Case Studies

We were very pleased to be approached by Spike Theatre to produce the latest publicity artwork for their new touring theatre show ‘Sink or Swim’.

This will be the 16th touring production we have worked on for the company.

The ‘Sink or Swim’ images and associated print work were created to give an insight into the tone, content and nature of the play. (Always a tricky thing to do with a piece of devised theatre.)

The graphics and design, as always, had to be created to be as flexible as possible, allowing the artwork to be re-purposed dependent on destination. Both landscape and portrait versions of the design were produced to suit a wide variety of media from A5 flyers and A0 posters to web banners and email attachments.

Fixed navigation for constant user access.

Integrated with other web technologies, Google Translate, Twitter, YouTube.

Responsive design which dynamically alters the layout of the site to suit phone and tablet devices.

Build on an open source user friendly content management system.

We were recently awarded the contract by Liverpool Vision for creating the website for the International Festival for Business 2014.

We worked with Liverpool Vision’s in-house design team to create a site that was clear and easy to navigate and also looked great and matched the style and branding of the forthcoming event.

The site is built on an open source content management system which allows the IFB2014 team to update and add content as the festival develops.

Also integrated into the project are several web technologies. The home page features an integrated twitter feed, showcasing the current social conversations about the festival. Reflecting the true international nature of the festival there is a Google Translate button, which allows an instant, on-page translation of the site at the click of a mouse. The site also features several YouTube embedded videos which stream into the page in a dedicated viewer.

The site was built with phone and tablet users in mind and is responsive, dyamically changing the layout and content of the site to suit the viewing device.

The site was pretty much re-built from the ground up which allowed us to integrate a few new features such as their multi-stage print enquiry form and an updated interactive gallery of work.

The navigation was also re-built, providing a clear information system which enables team at LT Print to better showcase their service offering and demonstrate their expertice to their clients.

Stage 2 of the project will be focussed around search engine optimisation and social media integration.

Coldlight worked closely to both organisations’ graphic design brand guidelines, utilising colour schemes and typography from both to produce a clear and ‘on-brand’ bi annual report.
